The draftsman/CAD operator position requires the ability to create visual plans (blueprints) for the installation of air distribution systems in large commercial and industrial buildings. These plans provide sheet metal workers with information about the dimensions and materials necessary for a project. Requirements for this position include but not limited to:
- Consult with project managers and other trades to obtain the technical details for drawings.
- Responsible for coordinating the air distribution system with plumbing, fire protection and electrical systems.
- Prepare drawings using computer-aided design and drafting systems so they may be viewed and printed by all members of a construction team.
