Position Summary Information
Responsibilities
Review purchase order invoices and process for payment. Collaborate with university personnel to determine need to travel advance, issue travel advance, and control status of return. Process employee travel reimbursements for payment. 100% monthly audit for UMB procurement cards, according to the State Procurement Laws, and processes for payment. Troubleshoot procurement card issues. Acts as liaison between cardholders and DFA. Distributes procurement cards to cardholders, maintain procurement card applications, user agreements, and other related forms. Create new vendor numbers. Maintain paid files. Initiate bi-weekly accounts payable check run. Assist with filing and processing incoming mail. Oversee the rental vehicle account and Fuel Man account. and procurement card application and user agreement files. Assist annually with 1099 process, year-end process, record retention, and audits. Assist university personnel by answering phone calls and emails quickly. Take on other duties as assigned in a collaborate environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience with Banner software, Microsoft Office products, procurement card management, and accounts payable duties preferred.
- Familiarity with university setting and professional experience in a comparable environment preferred.
- Must be a Certified Mississippi Purchasing Agent (CMPA) or be willing to become a CMPA within one year of hire date.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple work requests simultaneously.
- Requires a reliable, hardworking, proactive, detail-oriented person with effective written and verbal communications skills.
- Proficient in bookkeeping, computer, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and desire to learn new skills.
- Capable of working independently and within a team.
