Position Summary Information
Responsibilities
This position will identify, research and recruit new clients for the program. The Business developer will build and maintain relationships with businesses through different prospecting methods/lead generation, including to but not limited to scheduled appointments, outbound calling, virtual meetings, when appropriate, even developing an early phase opportunity for future pipeline business potentials. Business Developer will coordinate their recruitment efforts with community organizations, municipal and local elected officials, new and existing small businesses. The Business Developer will assist with administrative office support as directed by the Program Director. The Business Developer will assist in the development and the updating of business client data in an electronic system. Developing relationships and networking with local, state and national agencies for future program development. Training clients on platforms that assist with financial planning, financial record keeping, business planning, customized databases, marketing/promotional tools, and web-based business subscriptions.
Qualifications
The business developer must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, other related field or appropriate documented work experience. Applicant must have proven experience in building and maintaining relationships with businesses through different prospecting methods/lead generation, including to but not limited to scheduled appointments, outbound calling, virtual meetings, when appropriate. Must work independently and with minimal supervision. Must possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, technology, facilitation and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem solving are a must.
Salary
Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
