Position Summary Information
Responsibilities
The Delta Center for Culture and Learning is an interdisciplinary program at Delta State University that promotes the heritage of the Mississippi Delta. Its mission is to promote understanding of Mississippi Delta culture and history through education, partnerships, community engagement, and supporting regional heritage tourism. The Director manages development activities associated with its mission, oversees day-to-day administrative activities, and acts as the face of the Center to the community.

- Ensure that the DCCL maintains a long-range strategy to achieve its mission.
- Plan, promote and implement activities that foster regional tourism.
- Build working relationships and collaborative agreements with diverse public and private agencies and organizations to ensure the DCCL’s success.
- Provide leadership in developing mission-oriented programs and organizational and financial plans with the University and collaborative partners.
Qualifications
Advanced college degree required; a PhD is preferred in a relevant field. Minimum of five years previous experience including management, grant-writing, and fundraising. Experience in developing and leading workshops appropriate for mission; Demonstrated effective communication; Ability to interact comfortably with community members and all stakeholders.
Salary
Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
