Position Summary:
Work together safely with other employees to stack steel tubing in carts per plant safety/guidelines and customer requirements.
Currently Hiring for; Monday - Thursday; 10hr Shift. Possible Overtime on Friday's.
We are a Tobacco and Vape-Free facility.
Position Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Operate with safety as priority No. 1.
- First and foremost, report to work on time.
- Tag bundles appropriately before leaving mill.
- Constant drive for the fastest possible production rates while maintaining safety, quality, company policies and standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely.
- Ability to visually and physically inspect the quality of a part per customer specifications.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of basic math; Add/Subtract/Multiply/Divide, decimals, fractions, percentages.
- Ability to monitor quality of product being formed.
- Stack tubes into ready carts and place bands around bundles.
- Assist in tube mill setups and changeovers with minimum downtime and maximum productivity.
- Capable of standing/walking for 10-12hrs.
- Capable of lifting and/or moving 75lbs.
- Must have dependable means of transportation.
- Must have valid Driver's license.
- Required to stay busy during downtime or tooling change: There is always something to be improved!
- Lead by example, follow plant safety rules and plant guidelines at all times!
Daily duties include:
- Constant effective communication with other employees and on coming shifts.
- Interpreting jobs for cart setup, steel band lengths and tolerances.
- Use of appropriate length measuring equipment to record the quality of production parts.
- Quality inspection of tubing visually and by feel.
- Assist in changeovers by removing mill stands and rolls to maximize efforts and productivity.
- Housekeeping; ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Staying a step ahead by readying carts with wood and bands per job, making bands and lumber.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Preferred Highschool Diploma or GED.
- Preferred Tube Mill Environment but not required.
- Preferred Mechanical background.
