Summary Of Client's Description Of This Opportunity
- Support individuals who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities, and possibly physical, medical, and/or behavioral disabilities
- Provide a secure and responsive environment that enables consumers to maximize their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual capabilities
- Provide guidance to residents regarding social skills, transportation, health and personal hygiene, food preparation, and housekeeping
- Provide and assist with transportation to appointments, community events, and outings
- Provide independent living skills training as needed
Successful candidates will have a passion for assisting others with their daily activities, accompanying them to doctor appointments, performing light housekeeping duties, running errands, and providing companionship.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Minimum of six (6) months experience in social services or supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Demonstrated ability in strong communication and computer skills
- Must have a valid Driver's License, and acceptable driving record
- Ability to interact with clients and consumers in a positive manner within the community
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people in a team setting
- Establish a relationship with one of the nation's largest referral agencies for behavioral-health.
