Financial Aid Representative
Delta Technical College, an established career college with campuses throughout the Midwest and Mississippi Delta region, is seeking a Financial Aid Representative for our Horn Lake, Mississippi campus.
REPORTS TO: Financial Aid Operations Manager/Director of Financial Aid Operations/Campus President
GOAL: To assist a student through the financial aid process in awarding Title IV Funding and speaking to them about payment obligations prior to enrollment at Midwest Technical Institute/Delta Technical College and support them in their ongoing educational progress.
QUALIFICATIONs:
- Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Have a professional attitude and manner that reflects the high standards of MTI/DTC and a desire to shape futures.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively over the phone.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with students, parents, staff and faculty.
- Have strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task and succeed with strict guidelines.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures set forth by the Midwest Technical Institute/Delta Technical College’s FA Office and Department of Education.
- Ability to accept constructive criticism.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adheres to all State, Federal, and Accrediting standards and regulations, consistent with the highest ethical standards.
- Adhere to approved policies and procedures in the conduct of all work related activities.
- Conduct all financial aid duties in an ethical and professional manner and in keeping with organizational policies and procedures as well as relevant accreditation requirements.
- Attend Open Houses, Graduation Ceremonies, monthly program and staff meetings, staff training, and other required functions.
- Speak with prospective and active students and provide assistance in completing the FAFSA and other major forms relating to Title IV Funding.
- Supply follow-up communication via phone, mail and email regarding student’s financial aid awards.
- Follow up with students that miss scheduled appointments to facilitate rescheduling.
- Maintaining financial aid records.
- Collect relevant documentation to assist in the awarding of Title IV Funding
- Keep up to date on Department of Education’s policies, procedures, updates, and changes.
- Responsible for providing information to the Financial Aid Director relating to current trends, potential issues and other pertinent information.
