What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analyst, Planning and Forecasting (Natural Gas) position at Delta Utilities?
Delta Utilities is seeking a Planning and Forecasting Analyst to develop its daily, monthly, seasonal, and peak day forecasts and methodologies. This is a full-time position based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This individual will be responsible for utilizing historical gas usage data and related historical weather to develop forecasts for future gas usage and comply with all regulatory requirements to support the statistical methods.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and generate daily gas usage forecasts, normal monthly requirements, and design day forecasts for each area of Delta Utilities’ operations.
- Analyze historical forecasts for trends and regularly update models for greater accuracy.
- Provide support for statistical methods and respond to relevant regulatory bodies via data requests or draft testimony regarding forecasting methodology.
- Support development of data visualizations for relevant forecasts and historical usage.
- Collaborate with other internal departments for the distribution of forecasts and weather-related information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Mathematics, or related field required.
- Background in statistics or mathematics required to perform complex calculations, statistical methods and regression analysis.
- Natural gas industry experience preferred.
- Experience with Azure ML and PowerBI/Tableau preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
