Job Summary


Aircraft technicians are essential to Deltahawk Engines’ airframe integration efforts, contributing significantly to both development and certification processes. Their main role is to complete maintenance, modifications, support flight testing, and to offer crucial design feedback for test assets and new airframe projects.


Collaborating closely with the Engineers and other DeltaHawk professionals, the Aircraft Technician will contribute to the overall efficiency and airworthiness of our aircraft, thereby supporting the organization's commitment to operational excellence and aviation safety.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee or perform installations of test engines and related sub-systems
  • Review and provide feedback on workmanship of junior technicians
  • Ensure that meticulous records are maintained for all flight assets
  • Oversee or perform aircraft maintenance, modifications, and investigations
  • Provide input and review of proposed test flight plans and safety reviews
  • Work with engineering to provide input on safety, reliability, and maintenance of components Identifies and resolve mechanical problems based on visual inspections or reports from pilot or crew.
  • Handles the fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing of aircraft systems parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies, including hydraulic, pneumatic, oxygen, fuel, aircraft tube fabrication, flight control, and landing gear components, with no supervision.


Required Qualifications


  • Six years of relevant piston engine and airframe maintenance and troubleshooting experience
  • A&P mechanic
  • Strong “can do” attitude accompanied with a sense of ambition and urgency
  • Works effectively with others in a team environment
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and tasks related to aircraft work and flight testing
  • Desire to work with others to train them in technical aspects of the job and industry
  • Excellent attention to detail in personal work as well as others and all aircraft inspection processes
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate technical details effectively in verbal and written form
  • Computer literacy including the ability to organize and manage documentation and flight data
  • Ability to lift, hold, and position weights up to 45 lbs at least two to four times per hour as needed in tight aircraft spaces

Preferred Qualifications


  • Comfortable wiring avionics as well as troubleshooting aircraft electrical or sensor issues
  • Inspection Authorization (IA)
  • Private Pilot license (or better)


Working Conditions

Work will be conducted in typical mechanical shop and industrial test cell environments.

Salary : $56,000 - $71,000
