BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE - COMMERCIAL / INDUSTRIAL
Role Description
The Business Development Associate – Commercial/Industrial will work with HDJ business development and Commercial/Industrial studio leadership to acquire new business by:
- Building a development, sales, and marketing program and platform specific to commercial retail and industrial development, emphasizing regional and national grocers;
- Generating and facilitating new leads and target clients, emphasizing regional and national grocers;
- Creating a nationwide presence for HDJ in this real estate sector;
- Becoming a market expert and monitoring trends within the industry;
- Participating in industry organizations and attending associated events and conferences;
- Developing meaningful relationships and partnerships with commercial/industrial developers, contractors, and other project partners;
- Creating project proposals and letters-of-intent;
- Supporting HDJ’s architectural and engineering production teams as needed throughout the life of a project; and
- Collaborating with HDJ’s marketing team to develop and create market specific content.
HDJ is seeking an individual based in Chicago for this role.

As a leading A/E consultant, we provide architectural and engineering services to national and regional commercial retailers, including publicly traded companies and privately owned corporations. Our experience includes both new build-to-suit (NBTS) and existing build-to-suit (EBTS) in the commercial retail sector.
