What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swiss CNC Lathe Set-up Person and Operator position at Deltrol Fluid Products?
1st/2nd shift position. Train on 1st shift
Essential Functions:
· CNC and Swiss style turning machine setup and operating experience is required.
· Experience with operating bar feeder equipment.
· Loading and unloading bar stock material.
· Install and adjust tools frequently to ensure accuracy and quality.
· Inspect and prep materials for machines.
· Be able to perform basic preventative maintenance and housekeeping on equipment and work area.
· Understand and use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, comparators and other measuring equipment to inspect machined parts per drawing specifications.
· Knowledge of standard CNC and Swiss turning machine practices, and tooling.
· Able to read blueprints and perform basic Math calculations.
· Must have the necessary skills to evaluate and make proper adjustments to continue to produce quality parts and troubleshoot machining issues.
· Able to bend, lift (34 lbs. max, 1.375 steel hex bar 6ft.), stand, push and pull-on occasion.
· Basic English language skills. Must be able to communicate with supervisor.
· Understand standard CNC turning machine practices, tooling and operation of CNC turning equipment.
· Install and adjust tools as needed to ensure accuracy and quality.
· Basic understanding of G-code, however programming is not required but a plus.
· Operate CNC 2-axis and Swiss Style Lathe Machines
· Attentive to detail and follow work procedures and company policies.
- Set up and operate multiple machining equipment concurrently
- Read and interpret machine parts drawing specifications
- Adjust machine settings to machine parts according to specifications and to maximize machining capabilities
- Select appropriate set-up tooling and fixtures for machines
- Be able to perform basic math calculations.
- Be able to set up and prove out new programs performing dry runs at reduced speeds & feeds.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Able to follow instructions provided by set-up sheets and job orders.
- Understanding of tooling and its functions to identify needed tooling.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement preferred
- Be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Metal machine shop with eye protection and safety shoes
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
