Position Goals and Summary:
Delval Equipment has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, hard-working, team player to join our rapidly growing Water Treatment Division as a Sales Engineer. The primary objectives will be to maintain the current customer base through exemplary service and product application and to generate new business for the Water Treatment Division. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for installing and maintaining water treatment and chemical feed systems along with monitoring and calling on current accounts. Problem-solving qualities are a must and the ability to work alone or in conjunction with engineers and operators is imperative. This person should be mechanically inclined and willing to work onsite at our customer locations which include many industrial and food manufacturing plants, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, breweries, etc.
This person will be joining our team of 7 experienced Water Treatment Engineers who work closely with one another. There is a great sense of camaraderie already built within the team and whoever fills this role will easily fit right in as long as they bring a positive attitude, great work ethic and the desire to learn our processes to advance your career while bringing growth to our Water Treatment Division. In the first year the Sales Engineer will be required to travel to our Valley Forge office for frequent overnight stays. This will allow the Sales Engineer to travel alongside our other Engineers providing them the opportunity to get a grasp of our customer base while learning the department processes and expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibility of the Water Treatment Sales Engineer is to provide top-tier support to existing accounts and to generate new business for the Water Treatment Division. The list below includes many of the responsibilities, but this list is not all-inclusive:
- Daily Travel to customers or prospect facilities to provide support and maintenance to their Water Treatment Systems.
- Perform routine field tests that are necessary to maintain the chemistry required to protect the utility systems as well as mechanically address any issues related to the chemical feed and control equipment.
- Performing audits at account sites annually.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the entire hierarchy of the account from the boiler operator or engineer to the decision makers behind the scenes. The Sales Engineer is the customer’s personal consultant on water conservation and energy management.
- Creating and participating in sales presentations for customers and prospects.
- Develop solid working relationships with the Delval Aftermarket Sales people and Service Technicians that will provide our department with leads and opportunities for generating new accounts and revenue.
- Troubleshooting current customer’s utility systems when needed.
- Must be flexible with following the schedule and must stay at the job site until work is completed.
- Maintaining a clean work area and always cleaning the work area before leaving for the day.
- Troubleshooting Mechanical and basic electrical systems
- Attend internal meetings held monthly.
- Completes and submits on-time(with required signatures)all customer or internal paperwork required, on-time
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, kneel, climb (ladders and stairs), balance, carry, stoop and lift
- Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs, and occasionally life and/or move up to 75lbs.
- Employee must be able to drive in a car for up to six hours per day, if needed
- Employee must be able to stand on feet for up to 8 hours per day, if needed
REQUIREMENTS FOR DELVAL
- Must have a High school diploma or equivalent (Required) but 4 year Engineering Degree is preferred
- Valid Driver’s License for the state that he/she resides in as well as a safe driving record (Required). Must maintain a safe driving record as an employee of Delval
- Ability to read, speak, and write English is required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening and physical. Random drug testing will continue throughout your entire employment at Delval Equipment.
