We are looking for a professional, high-energy bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classical and craft cocktails to our customers. We are a dinner only restaurant, open Tuesday through Sunday. The bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, follow recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.
To succeed as a bartender, you should have a neat appearance and an engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them.
· Guide guests through the food menu, including nightly features, as well as the beverage menu.
· Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
· Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services.
· Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar.
· Prepare drinks following given recipes using proper glassware, technique and garnish.
· Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
· Maintain clean service areas.
· Be able to read and proactively anticipate guests wants and needs.
· Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable).
· Be willing to work as a team behind the bar and assist servers when needed.
· Keep up with “table” maintenance of bar guests as well as promptly clearing and cleaning the bar when guests leave.
· Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
· Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
Qualifications:
· Be eager to go above and beyond to ensure guests satisfaction.
· Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
· Experience in a full-service restaurant serving beer, wine and craft cocktails.
· Serve guests in a “polished casual” style, but with the elements of classic fine dining techniques (open hand service, clearing from the right, serving from the left, etc.).
· Strong wine knowledge is a plus, but an eagerness to learn is essential.
· Experience in a craft cocktail environment and comfortable using jiggers.
· Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
· Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
· Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
Salary : $150 - $350
