The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $20-$26/hour at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:The Mechatronics Engineering Intern reports to the Mechatronics Engineering Manager in North America and works as a part of the Vehicle Mechatronics group within Robotic Systems Development. Entrepreneurial thinking, ability to produce innovative designs quickly, and sound engineering skills are critical for a successful candidate.

An automated guided vehicle (AGV) makes lights-out manufacturing and distribution possible by moving product within a process without human involvement. This requires excellence in mechatronic design, as well as cutting-edge software.The working environment is fast paced. Each team member works in a multi-disciplined team innovating new features and capabilities in addition to being driven by a multi-year roadmap.
Responsibilities:
Produce designs for global and local markets
Understand customer requirements, challenge, and solve them for our series AGV's
Hardware design of products and modules integrated with the software solution
Stakeholder reviews, risk assessments, adapting planning, and development based on multidisciplinary feedback
Complete design and safety standard conformance documentation
Participate in prototype building, troubleshooting, and functional testing
Work with high-volume, global manufacturing teams to produce designs
Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related program from an accredited university
GPA 3.0 or higher
Preferred Competencies: Relevant CAD software, 3D printing, MS Office Suite
Excellent communication skills- written and verbal
Maker with a hardware and controls focus
Motivated self-starter who will take initiative to identify issues and pursue resolutions
Architectural knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and software products
