DeMayo Law Offices is seeking a Medical Records Analyst to join our team. This position will be responsible for reviewing medical records & bills to ensure accuracy & completeness. Serves as safety net to confirm that all proper insurance coverages have been filed & notified. Responsible for ensuring that demand packages are complete prior to submission to insurance carriers.
Responsibilities
- Reviews medical records and bills for accuracy
- Ensures medical records and billings are complete and up-to-date
- Flags any missing medical information and notifies the CSS and Medical Records Specialist that additional information is needed
- Prepares demand packages, ensuring they are complete prior to submission to insurance carriers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred; however, a combination of education, certifications and experience may be considered
- Exposure to medical records, medical terminology required
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and ability to identify what is missing from a record
- Ability to review and understand medical diagnoses and treatment recommendations
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Self-motivated and demonstrate initiative to complete duties without supervision
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to operate a computer and general office equipment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Office and ability to learn and use various software programs
- Paralegal certification or nursing degree preferred
