The Cashier/Floor Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while managing transactions and supporting store operations. This role involves operating cash registers and processing various forms of payment, including cash, check and credit cards. In addition, the associate will welcome customers, assist with inquiries, and resolve purchase-related issues. Floor responsibilities include maintaining inventory, and ensuring a welcoming shopping environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering a positive shopping experience.
Responsibilities
· · Greet customers warmly as they enter the store, creating a welcoming atmosphere
· Provide exceptional service to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
· · Introduce and promote current sales and store promotions to customers
· Collaborate with team members to resolve customer issues efficiently.
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers.
· · Assist customers with inquiries, including product location and price discrepancies.
· · Provide information and resolve complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
· Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit cards, and check payment methods.
· · Bag and wrap purchased items with care to enhance the customer experience.
· · Monitor for signs of fraud or theft and take appropriate action as needed.
· · Direct customers to various merchandise within the store to facilitate their shopping experience.
· · Maintain a clean and orderly appearance throughout the sales floor to promote a pleasant shopping environment.
· · Perform other related duties as assigned to support store operations.
Experience/Qualifications
· Knowledge, Skill and Ability
· Ability to add, subtract, and count out change correctly.
· Operate all aspects of the register, including cash, check and card transactions.
· Assist customers with bagging and carrying products as needed
· Maintain a clean work environment, keeping register clear for incoming customers
· Balances cash received with cash sales daily.
· Ability to promote a favorable company image with employees and the public.
· Ability to interact and communicate effectively with customers.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly standing, bending, and stooping.
