Calendar : 210 (188 Day Teacher Calendar plus Additional Days to total 210)
Salary : Appropriate step on Teacher Salary Schedule
JOB SUMMARY :
Under the supervision of the principal, support and enhance teacher effectiveness by providing instructional coaching, professional development, and data-driven strategies to improve student achievement and engagement across all grade levels.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- New Mexico Level III Teacher License, or possess valid NMPED Administrative License
- Experience working with adult learners.
- High educational standards.
- Promotes a positive school atmosphere.
- Personal discipline and willingness to commit significant time, effort, and focus to the wide array of duties of the position both large and small.
- Verifiable work and / or character references
- Bilingual Endorsement Preferred
- TESOL Endorsement Preferred
Key Objectives :
Teacher Collaboration & Support : Work closely with teachers, under the direction of the principal, to implement research-based instructional strategies and foster a culture of continuous improvement.Professional Development : Design and deliver targeted professional learning opportunities that align with district and school goals, in collaboration with the principal.Data-Driven Decision Making : Assist teachers in analyzing student performance data to inform instructional practices and interventions, ensuring alignment with school priorities.Classroom Modeling & Observation : Demonstrate effective teaching strategies through modeling, co-teaching, and providing constructive feedback, as guided by the principal.Curriculum Alignment : Support teachers in aligning instructional practices with state standards, district adopted curriculum, and best practices in education, under the principal's leadership.Student-Centered Learning : Promote student engagement, differentiation, and inclusive teaching methods to support diverse learning needs, in accordance with school improvement goals.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist principals with the observation / feedback process.
Instructional Support & Coaching
Collaborate with teachers to enhance instructional practices through coaching cycles, co-teaching, and classroom observations.Model evidence-based teaching strategies to improve student learning and engagement.Provide individualized coaching and feedback to teachers to support professional growth.Professional Development & TrainingDesign and facilitate professional learning sessions based on school and district priorities.Support teachers in implementing new instructional strategies, technology integration, and curriculum changes.Assist in planning and leading PLC meetings, workshops, and instructional initiatives.Assist teacher in development and implementation of Professional Development Plans.Data-Driven Instruction & Assessment
Analyze student achievement data to identify trends and inform instructional decisions.Assist teachers in using formative and summative assessments to guide instruction.Support the implementation of data-driven intervention strategies for student success.Curriculum & Instruction AlignmentEnsure instructional practices align with state standards, district curriculum, and best practices.Collaborate with teachers to develop lesson plans that incorporate differentiated instruction and high-impact teaching methods.Assist in the adoption and implementation of new instructional resources and programs.Collaboration & Leadership
Work under the supervision of the principal to support school-wide instructional initiatives.Serve as a liaison between administration and teachers to facilitate communication and implementation of best practices.Participate in leadership team meetings and contribute to school improvement planning.Classroom Observations & FeedbackConduct non-evaluative classroom walkthroughs to observe instruction and provide constructive feedback.Assist in setting goals and action plans for teachers based on observation and student data.Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all coaching interactions.Student-Centered Learning & Inclusion
Support teachers in implementing differentiation, culturally responsive teaching, and inclusive instructional practices.Assist in developing strategies to support diverse learners, including English Learners (ELs) and students with special needs.Promote student engagement through innovative instructional approaches.Assists teachers in establishing a positive, student-centered learning environment.Other Duties as Assigned
