Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Retail Handyman to join our team. As a handyman, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and improvements across our retail locations. Your work will directly impact the customer experience, ensuring that our stores are safe, functional, and visually appealing. This role will be starting part-time with the opportunity to become full-time after training and onboarding period. The job will begin on a job-by-job basis and can help fill in your work schedule if you already perform handyman tasks.
Responsibilities:
- General Maintenance: Repair and maintain fixtures, equipment, and facilities within our retail stores.
- Carpentry and Painting: Handle minor carpentry tasks, such as installing shelves, repairing doors, and fixing furniture. Also, touch up paint as needed.
- Electrical and Plumbing: Troubleshoot and address minor electrical and plumbing issues (e.g., changing light bulbs, fixing leaks).
- Safety Inspections: Regularly inspect store areas for safety hazards and address them promptly.
- Store Setup and Display: Assist with setting up displays, signage, and promotional materials.
- Transportation: Use your own vehicle to travel between store locations (mileage reimbursement provided).
- Communication: Collaborate with store managers and team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous handyman or maintenance experience preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in basic carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently.
- Transportation: Must have reliable transportation (valid driver's license and insurance).
- Physical Stamina: Able to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a retail environment and adjusting to changing priorities.
Compensation:
- Hourly pay: $30-40 per hour, based on experience.
