The Opportunity: As a Coalitions Director, you will have the important task of building relationships with, and creating, an active dialogue between the Democratic Party of Wisconsin and diverse groups, including, but not limited to Black, Latinx, AAPI, Indigenous, and LGBTQ communities across the state. The Coalitions Director will be responsible for managing a statewide team of coalition managers who will be on the ground working to deepen the relationships between the Democratic Party and constituency groups. The ultimate goal is to build lasting and meaningful relationships to increase representation and strengthen our party, and their political power throughout our state.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strengthen the Coalitions Program, including setting programmatic goals and metrics, identify strategic opportunities for growth and success, as well as managing challenges.
- Implement and assist in the creation of a statewide outreach plan that deepens the Democratic Party of Wisconsin's relationships with historically marginalized and underrepresented constituency groups for the upcoming Supreme Court election through voter education and other community events.
- Manage a statewide team of Coalition Managers that are assigned to outreach assignments for the political department.
- Coordinate with the other Departments to implement feedback from outreach into DPW campaign plans and messaging as well for Democratic elected officials.
- Provide capacity to DPW Caucuses to increase membership and provide assistance for their initiatives.
- Assist the Political Director in empowering activists and coordinating with local elected officials across the state of Wisconsin.
- Create pathways for members of various constituency groups to become more involved in the issue and electoral efforts of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin and local governments.
- Oversee and assist with the planning and execution of community events across Wisconsin.
- Act as a surrogate and representative of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin at public events in diverse communities.
- Additional tasks as directed by the Political Director.
Qualifications (Required):
- Experience effectively communicating or building meaningful relationships with Elected officials, local influencers, government agencies, businesses, non-profits, or community organizations.
- Demonstrated record of working with different constituency groups to successfully implement and/or lobby for common projects or community initiatives.
- Ability to manage details and stay on top of multiple tasks, large and small, at once.
- Growth Mindset - ability to take and implement feedback.
- Relentlessly Goal Oriented - enjoys working toward and achieving ambitious goals. Keeps calm in stressful situations. Has the capacity and willingness to work long hours during peak season, rolling up their sleeves and getting the work done.

- Experience managing a racially diverse team to effectively meet ambitious common goals.
- Demonstrated commitment to social and racial justice, and an understanding of the issues facing communities of color, immigrant communities, and low to moderate income families.
- Strong written and verbal and communication skills.
Qualifications (Preferred):
- Successful experience conducting outreach for a political campaign, government department, business, non-profit or community organization.
- Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel statewide.
