What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Organizer position at Democratic Socialists?
Democratic Socialists of America is a member-run socialist organization with nearly 200 chapters nationwide engaged in movement-building, public education, direct action, advocacy, and electoral politics. Our immediate goal is to build working-class power against the capitalist class while advancing transformative reforms like a Green New Deal, supporting a robust labor movement, electing socialists to office, and shifting the public framing around capitalism and democratic socialism. DSA is a “big tent,” multi-tendency organization that welcomes everyone committed to democracy and socialism.
Responsibilities
- Draft and edit DSA ActionKit emails, both fundraising and digital calls to action, and other public and internal documents to ensure strategic messaging
- Monitor and analyze DSA ActionKit email performance and implement best practices
- Work alongside members on internal communications via text, email, and other methods, including monthly membership renewal and retention outreach
- Ensure that messaging from fundraising and organizing staff aligns with organizational messaging and manage a calendar of membership communications for all staff
- Coordinate between DSA publications and provide resources
- Staff point of contact for DSA Discussion Board and other internal membership communications tools
- Work with Comms Committee to fulfill social media requests and provide analytics and other support as needed
- Create or coordinate volunteers in creating graphics, videos, and other design items and update the website and other online materials as requested by committees and staff
- Provide logistical support for national events, including mass virtual calls and in-person events, as needed
- Assist with DSA merch and online store as needed
- Other duties as needed
