What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Manager position at DEN HARTOG INDUSTRIES INCORPORATED?
- Develops, implements, and maintains Quality Assurance programs throughout the company. Continually evaluates current programs in order to design more efficient ones. Builds programs to allow future ISO or quality certification (if desired) and to eliminate sources of process variation.
- Manages and services customers’ quality specifications and expectations (on-site, as needed).
- Works with engineering and production in the interpretation, application and implementation of new or existing product requirements or changes. Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Initiates and effectively maintains approval documentation from customers for new product changes to existing product.
- Implements effective preventative action plans to ensure quality specifications are followed. Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality output within the limits of equipment capability.
- Oversees corrective action plans to ensure customer requirements are met and maintained.
- Monitors all documentation and maintenance of Quality Assurance systems.
- Develops, implements, and maintains internal audit activities. Oversees destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics. Oversees documentation and maintenance of lot numbers and certifications for trace-ability. Reviews random audits within production processes to ensure conformance to customer requirements.
- Develops, implements, and maintains external audit requirements for various certification programs (customers, regulatory agencies, etc.).
- Develops and executes waste reduction action plans and reporting methods.
- Provides leadership and “expert” guidance and coaching to all departments in applying Quality Assurance practices.
- Gives “on-floor” presence to provide staff with accessible management feedback and responses regarding Quality Assurance practices and expectations.
- Documents test data, applying statistical control techniques when appropriate.
- Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into the computer for analysis.
- Manages returned goods and warranty claims for the customer.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Assures Quality Assurance monitoring devices are regularly calibrated to maintain accuracy.
- Initiates and organizes participation in corrective/preventative action plans to ensure that customer and/or process quality issues are resolved.
- Projects enthusiasm about the company through positive interactions with others, including internal and external customers. Interacts professionally with other divisions/departments.
