JOB SUMMARY

Under limited supervision, the Security Officer performs security and access control services to ensure the safety and security of the reception/lobby or visitor gate areas at the assigned ConocoPhillips facility. This is a licensed Security Officer with excellent administrative and customer service skills. Responsible for greeting and checking-in visitors, daily interactions with customers (employees, visitors, contractors, etc.), and issuing access cards per established site procedures.

The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but the company may identify other duties of the position. These responsibilities may differ depending on job site, business necessities and client requirements.

Work Schedule: Urban, Monday - Friday or 1x1 rotational

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior military, law enforcement, or private security experience. Previous experience in an administrative and/or receptionist role strongly desired.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • State Unarmed Security Officer License (or ability to obtain)
  • Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • As a condition of employment, must be able to successfully complete a criminal background investigation, drug screen, and a post-offer physical.

Essential Functions

  • Understand and successfully execute post orders including enforcement of client and company policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Provide security related customer service and emergency response activities as required.
  • Guard property against damage, fire, theft, and illegal or unauthorized entry.
  • Display courteous, respectful, and professional interactions with the public and customers.
  • This position will be knowledgeable and cross-trained of all duties associated with the reception/lobby, customer service, and visitor gate posts at the assigned facility.
  • Lobby/Reception Officer duties: monitor the optical turnstiles during peak hours; manage the lobby area; assist with visitor registration; assist with any emergency situations when necessary.
  • Customer Service Officer duties: process visitors; issue new/replacement/temporary access cards per established site procedures; issue parking permits (temporary and permanent); toll tag activation as required; manage the contractor and visitor safety video.
  • Visitor Gate Officer duties: manage entry into the garage for employees and visitors per established procedures; verify that each visitor is registered on the Visitor Management System; call the Reception Desk for assistance obtaining authorization for entry if the visitor is not in the system. Monitor the surroundings of the visitor’s gate and will be visible at all times.
  • Complete all job required forms/documentation/logs accurately and timely.
  • Maintain high standards for work areas and appearance. Must comply with established dress code/uniform requirements.
  • May be asked to perform rescue functions at accidents, emergencies and disasters.
  • May assist management and law enforcement officials in emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness.
  • Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and appropriate professionalism.
  • Must maintain excellent knowledge of Company access control systems and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable of all duties associated with the basic patrol/post officer posts. May be requested to occasionally cover other posts as needed.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety and operational procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Attend company/job required training programs (classroom and virtual).
  • Ability to work a varying schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The majority of the work is performed in and around a corporate office building with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee’s work requires routine walking, sitting, standing, bending, pushing and/or pulling, and carrying items up to 50 lbs. Candidates will be required to successfully complete a post-offer pre-employment physical.
