What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Attendant: North Slope Remote Camp position at Denali Universal Services?
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Executive Chef, the employee will perform various duties in the warehouse.
Rotational Schedule: 3 weeks on/ 3 weeks off
Lodging and food provided at the job site
Travel to/from Anchorage to the Slope
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical requirements
- Must meet criminal history and background requirements
- AK Food Worker Card or ability to obtain one before first day of work
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous remote site camp experience and/or related area experience
- Forklift or Electric Pallet Jack experience
- NSTC
- Food handling experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Receive, store inventory, and maintain items delivered to the warehouses
- Break out frozen items to thaw
- Deliver items as required
- General sanitation of warehouses
- Assist Chef in planning production
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner
- Willingness to perform others duties as required
- Willingness to work at various locations as required

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The employee will be required to live and work in a remote and confined workspace for extended periods of time and exposure to work assignments consisting of twelve-hour days and able to work day or night shifts as required. The majority of the work is performed in a remote setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities. There may be a lack of immediate access to critical medical services as well as urban community services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee’s work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Applicant will be required to successfully complete a post-offer pre-hire physical and Functional Capacity Exam.
