Deneweth, Vittiglio & Sassak, P.C. seeks a Legal Assistant/Paralegal with 2 years of litigation experience. Our firm represents a variety of clients in the areas of commercial litigation, construction law, real estate transactions, and employment law. A paralegal certificate is preferred but not required. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule appointments, makes travel and/or meeting arrangements, and maintains business calendars as needed.
- E-filing pleadings with the various courts
- E-recording documents with the various counties
- Prioritize assignments and prepare correspondence
- Transcription
- Prepare litigation related documents using a high level of secretarial and word processing related knowledge and skills.
- Efficiently proofreads and edits text for grammatical and typographical errors
- Prepares large volumes of documents and maintains the filing (both electronically and paper, as needed).
- Maintains confidentiality, assures work product is accurate and presented professionally, and makes efforts to foster a positive rapport with all internal and external contacts.
Qualifications:
- Must have advanced word processing skills and be able to use such tools as footnotes and redlining.
- Proficient use of Word, Outlook, Excel.
- High level of communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize a high volume of tasks and complete them under significant time constraints.
- Ability to proofread typed material to eliminate grammatical, typographical and spelling errors.
- Must be a problem solver, willing to work and think with a degree of independence, handle confidential information with discretion, and accept responsibility for producing work that is consistently complete, timely, effective and accurate.
- Excellent organizational skills; detail oriented.
- Ability to adjust to frequent changes in assignments.
- Ability to work overtime when needed.
