Assist and/or coordinate building wide assessments. Responsible for attendance, discipline, safety and serves as building principal’s special education liaison.

Position Goal:

Functions of Student Services Coordinator:
- Follow the district At-Risk plan and recommend updates to the building plan annually.
- Lead others to create a plan to provide a clearer, more direct instructional focus and professional development plan based on building, grade level, and student data.
- Assist teachers in creating intervention plans (I-Plans, behavior plans, etc.) for students and monitor the implemented interventions.
- Serve as principal liaison for all regular IEP meetings.
- Directly involved in all MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) meetings.
- Co-facilitate, lead, and/or support district level professional development trainings.
- Co-facilitate, lead, and/or support building level professional development trainings.
- Evaluate teacher associates in building annually.
- Works cooperatively with the teachers, counselors, students, and parents to encourage students to be in attendance and on time.
- Confers with counselors and teachers to develop individual preventive discipline plans and the AEA when developing behavior intervention plans.
- Works with teachers to develop and follow up on a sequence of interventions for students who are at risk of falling behind academically.
- Assist the school principal in fostering sound interpersonal relationships among students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
- Direct teams in the analysis of data and the implementation of quality interventions.
- Assist and coordinate all building wide assessments.
- Assist in developing and coordinating a comprehensive assessment plan that addresses all core subject areas.
- Assist teachers to collect, desegregate, and analyze data to help teachers make appropriate instructional decisions supported by the data.
- Utilize specific district and school goals focused on student achievement to drive the work of PLC teams.
- Provide appropriate instructional training to teachers and support staff by being an instructional coach as needed.
- Manage the selection of intervention materials and other resources with other decision makers and building leadership personnel.
- Strive to implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
- Strives to continue to learn and grow as a professional.
- Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
- Utilizes the principles of learning during instruction.
- Is a member of Building Leadership Team and District Leadership Team.
- Endeavors to deal with the community, students, parents, teachers, administrators, and staff members in a positive and cooperative manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
