Open Position: School Bus Driver

Job Description:
We are seeking reliable and experienced School Bus Drivers to join our transportation team at Denison ISD. All drivers will ensure safe and orderly transportation of students on assigned routes. As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to their destinations while providing exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications:

CDL class A or B with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. Clear background and fingerprinting checks. School bus driving experience helpful. Certification classes must be completed after hired. Must be 21 years of age. Ability to pass drug and alcohol tests. Ability to complete required bus driver safety training. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to communicate effectively. Knowledge of student discipline procedures. Ability to manage student behavior. Ability to operate a school bus.

Duties:

-Safely operate a school bus to transport students to and from designated locations
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while maintaining a high level of safety
- Assist students if needed with boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring their safety
- Maintain a clean and organized bus interior, including regular cleaning and sanitizing
- Communicate effectively with parents and students, providing information about routes, and schedules.
- Handle student inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner
- Follow established procedures for maintaining accurate records
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in proper working order
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel

Experience:

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Previous experience as a school Bus Driver is preferred
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is a plus
- Ability to educate and communicate effectively with students of diverse backgrounds
- Strong knowledge of bus driving techniques, traffic laws, and safety regulations
- Familiarity with student behavior management techniques when dealing with children or challenging situations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.25 per hour
