SUMMARY
Responsible for Safety, Quality, Productivity, Training of Personnel and for supporting Lean Manufacturing systems and techniques throughout the production department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor.
· Lead and manage daily/weekly production requirements, communicating with other shifts. Assist operators in troubleshooting as necessary. Coach and mentor team members on the proper operation of stamping presses and assembly equipment (welding and kitting), including set-ups and stamping/assembly quality requirements.
· Verify set-up sheets and procedures and update as necessary.
· Lead, promote, and uphold safety practices throughout the department. Assist in the development of safety programs. Ensure the safety of all team members through proper training and operation of all press room/assembly equipment. Acquire PPE for production employees.
· Lead and assist die setters, press/assembly operators and material handlers as needed. Act as relief operator as needed on various equipment, including, but not limited to material handler.
- Verify Production Recording Information including tagging of product and train employees to ensure accuracy of inventory. Review with employees any production reporting errors and train so the errors do not repeat. Audit production employees’ production labels, inspection records, set-up verification, etc.
- Verify certifications of all handheld inspection devices and gauges.
- Collect and report end of shift information, i.e., production hits, uptime, and OEE numbers
- Maintains work area in a clean and safe condition, following 5S standards.
- Support Plant Layout changes and direct efficient flow in department through standard work for Continual Improvement. I.E., Coil Receipt, proper handling and storage of material, etc.
· Understanding and working knowledge of all job-related Safety Requirements, Quality Objectives, Quality Policies, procedures, instructions, and productivity expectations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Stand in for Plant Manager/Supervisor in his/her absence.
IMPACT ON CUSTOMER QUALITY Failure to perform these activities will likely result in dissatisfaction to the internal/external customer.
- Follow established instructions and quality standards.
- Responsible for the safety of self, teammates and product from damage and/or injury.
- Maintain communication to employees on daily schedules so proper materials for production (i.e., skids, die sets) are prepared to meet customer demand and quality specifications.
- Maintain and update press and assembly metrics in all work centers.
- Ensure flow is maintained in all departments to ensure on-time delivery to our customers.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and write documents such as safety rules; production and quality recording; and manufacturing work instructions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to convert metric units to standard units of measure and vice versa.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Hilo license and crane certification required.
EXPERIENCE
5 years of metal stamping and/or assembly related experience.
