Job Overview :
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Apprentice Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training in the repair and maintenance of diesel engines, semi-trucks, and semi-trailers. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong interest in diesel mechanics and a desire to learn specialized skills in the heavy-duty trucking industry.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of diesel engines and related components, including but not limited to fuel systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, exhaust systems, and air brakes.
- Work alongside experienced mechanics to perform routine maintenance, such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Help with repairs and servicing of semi-trailers, including axle and suspension systems, trailer brakes, lighting, and other essential components.
- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues in both trucks and trailers.
- Perform basic welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks as needed.
- Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and technical skills.
- Communicate with senior mechanics and supervisors about job progress and issues encountered.
