Dennis K. Burke, Inc. (DKB) is a family-owned business with new headquarters located in Taunton, Massachusetts. We are one of New England’s largest suppliers of diesel fuel, gasoline, and motor oil products and have reliably supplied customers throughout the Northeast for over 55 years.
Summary:
Responsible for the offloading and general cleaning of each delivery truck as it is returned to the warehouse from its scheduled route. Additionally, will be responsible to stage products and to load trucks. Must have prior forklift experience, at least 1 year, loading and unloading trucks, stand up forklift preferred. Mandatory quarterly inventory on Saturday's will be required and advanced notice provided. 2nd shift hours - Mon-Fri 1PM-9:30PM
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for offloading/stripping and sweeping out delivery trucks each night
- Responsible for unloading returned product to specified area
- Pick, prepare and stage/load product as prompted when using our barcode handheld scanners
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they are accurate based on the order
- Identify backorders and complete documentation
- Identify damaged merchandise to be “tagged out” from production
- Assist in production of all goods sold within the warehouse
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned
- Available for OT as required
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-2 years prior warehouse experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing to comply with all safety policies and practices
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Able to work in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must understand Unit of Measure and basic math
- Must obtain Hazmat license, forklift operating license and hoisting license within 90 days of employment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift a very high volume of cases of product per day from 20-45 pounds per case repeatedly
- Able to lift 50 lbs frequently, up to 120lbs occasionally
- Able to bend, stand, walk, sit, push, pull
- Able to stand on feet for most of shift
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer including keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
May be exposed to varied temperatures at times (heat/cold). May be subjected to loud noises, hazardous materials/chemicals, running machinery, and the hours for this position are Mon-Fri 12:30pm-9pm
2nd shift, Mon-Fri 1pm - 9:30pm Mon-Fri
(Mandatory quarterly inventory on Saturday will be required and proper notice given)
