Job Summary
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU AS A CARPENTRY SUPERVISOR
Responsibilities Include
- Planning and scheduling: Developing work schedules and assignments for the team while prioritizing work based on our production targets and sequencing with our paint and cabinet divisions
- Customer communication: Contacting each customer to schedule a pre-job walk, discussing proposal, scope and costs, collecting deposits, managing all additional work orders and ensuring customer understands their invoices, and collecting any progress payments, final payment and paperwork
- Assigning and directing work: Assigning jobs to each of our carpenters and ensuring they understand the scope and budgeted hours
- Inspecting work: Reviewing work in progress and upon completion to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
- Estimating costs and materials: Working with our sales team to estimate hours and material needs for proposals
- Requisitioning materials and equipment: Ensuring that the necessary materials and equipment are available for jobs
- Training and evaluating employees: Training new and existing employees, and evaluating their performance
- Maintaining records: Keeping records of hours worked and other relevant information, and preparing reports
- Ensuring safety: Ensuring employees adhere to safe work practices, and instructing them on how to use shop equipment safely
- Collaborating with other divisions: Coordinating work with other divisions (paint and cabinets)
- Combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Solid understanding of construction processes
