HOURS: Monday through Friday, 7 hours per day plus a half hour unpaid lunch

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Drive assigned routes for special needs program in accordance with Chapter 766 and other state and federal regulations.
- Meet with special needs staff on a regular basis to discuss bus behavior of assigned students.
- Maintain monthly student attendance forms as provided.
- Maintain vehicle log and trip records.
- Obey all traffic laws.
- Observe mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
- Maintain student discipline on the school vehicle.
- Keeps the vehicle clean and mechanically sound to include routine check of engine, tires, doors, grease and oil.
- Fill tank with gas and maintain gas withdrawal slips.
- Notify proper authorities of mechanical failures or student problems.
- Report all accidents and complete all required forms.
- May be required to perform other assigned tasks, such as bank deposits, routine errands, and special student trips in the interim time between regular routes.
- Attend scheduled driver training sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Massachusetts Commercial Drivers License, Class B with passenger endorsement.
- Department of Public Utilities school bus certification.
