ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Implement district learning goals and objectives, in alignment with state frameworks, having familiarity in identifying access points for student portfolio development.
- Provide small group and classroom instruction to students diagnosed from mild to severe cognitive delays and social emotional impairments to ensure understanding and progress in the general curriculum.
- Provide needed accommodations for student learning and testing when required.
- Collaborate as a team member within the school building in supporting other staff members in responding to the student's need for modification.
- Develops, integrates and implements IEP’s with clear and appropriate IEP goals and objectives.
- Designs and implements lesson plans and activities which incorporate student IEP goals and objectives.
- Attends and participates in TEAM meetings and the evaluation process.
- Evaluates students for special education.
- Demonstrates effective classroom management techniques.
- Responsible for writing IEPs, progress reports and progress monitoring.
- Responsible for evaluating and report writing.
- Attending meetings including, but not limited to, annual reviews, 3-year re-evaluations, etc.
- Responsible for progress monitoring of a case load of liaison students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be certified in either mild to moderate disabilities OR moderate to severe disabilities.
- Possible experience with transition and teaching vocational skills.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
