Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of a multi-facility lubricant distribution operation. The ideal candidate will have experience in a liquid manufacturing environment and with industrial equipment.
Requirements :
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible to update and execute a comprehensive facility and equipment preventative maintenance plan to reduce downtime in the manufacturing environment.
- Maintain current and establish new relationships with outside vendors who perform essential supplementary maintenance functions.
- Ability to source and review RFQs / RFPs for facility / machinery related projects and make studied recommendations to leadership.
- Manage third-party maintenance support as necessary.
- Suggest and implement changes in manufacturing environment, facilities, and equipment to increase efficiency of operations.
- Support and participate in company efforts relative to lean manufacturing and continued process improvement.
- Work with purchasing to maintain an appropriate inventory level of maintenance supplies as well as critical spare parts.
- Interact with the Operations Managers at satellite facilities relative to maintenance plans, concerns, and special project assistance.
- Must have the ability to understand packaging equipment, diagnose, troubleshoot disassemble and repair, calibrate, etc.
- Ability to Install and setup new equipment.
- Ability to be a first responder to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, air, motor, conveyor, boiler, packaging, and pump related issues throughout the facility.
- Recommend and implement safety measures and protocols as necessary to achieve OSHA related compliance and industry best practices.
- Extensive knowledge / experience with building systems, including but not limited to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies as necessary.
