About Us: Denny Eye and Laser Center is a leading ophthalmology clinic dedicated to providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. We seek a skilled and compassionate Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary: The Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for assisting ophthalmologists by performing various diagnostic tests, preparing patients for examinations, and maintaining clinical equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a patient-focused attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take patient medical histories and perform preliminary eye function tests
  • Conduct visual acuity tests, tonometry, and refraction assessments
  • Administer eye drops or medications as directed by the ophthalmologist
  • Assist during clinical procedures and minor surgeries
  • Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment, including OCT, visual field analyzers, and fundus cameras
  • Educate patients on post-treatment care and follow-up procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Ensure the exam rooms are clean and well-stocked

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification is a plus
  • Previous experience in an ophthalmology setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic instruments, techniques, and medical terminology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
