What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Waiter position at Dennys?
Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat customers in a friendly and efficient manner
- Take customer orders and relay them accurately to the kitchen
- Serve food and beverages to customers promptly and courteously
- Provide excellent customer service and address any customer concerns or inquiries
- Upsell menu items and promote specials to increase sales
- Assist with bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area
- Process customer payments using cash registers or POS systems
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
Dependability is crucial for this position, our customers deserve a well staffed crew ready to create the ultimate dining experience while they are here.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a server or in the food service industry is preferred
- Familiarity with POS or other restaurant management software is a plus
- Basic math skills for handling payments and making change accurately
- Ability to up sell menu items and provide recommendations to enhance the dining experience
- Willingness to help out in other areas of the restaurant as needed
