Position Overview:
DeNOVO Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems. This role involves working on processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, real-time systems, and the manipulation of large data sets. You will have the opportunity to lead software development teams, design innovative solutions, and contribute to mission-critical projects that directly impact national security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications.
- Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
- Debug existing software, resolve defects, and optimize system performance.
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
- Develop and execute test procedures for software components, ensuring adherence to design.
- Write and review software and system documentation for clarity and accuracy.
- Develop algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
- Collaborate with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and assess performance capabilities.
- Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models.
- Provide technical leadership for multiple software development teams.
- Select appropriate software development processes and ensure quality control of all developed and modified software.
- Recommend and implement new technologies and processes for complex software projects.
- Oversee and delegate programming and testing responsibilities to ensure successful project completion.
Core Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Java microservices development.
- Expertise in designing and implementing complex algorithms and database interfaces.
- Experience with developing software systems for processing-intensive analytics, real-time operations, and large data manipulation.
- Proven ability to analyze system flow, data usage, and work processes to identify and resolve problem areas.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 20 years as a Software Engineer (SWE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Note: An additional 4 years of software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Demonstrated experience leading software development teams and delivering quality solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with modern software design methodologies and tools.
- Experience with system integration and large-scale software deployments.
- Strong background in optimizing software for high-performance systems.
