Job Summary:
The position will provide technical support in the design and development of safety policies, procedures, and programs. Position will provide support to ensure DENSO maintains compliance with regulatory and internal standards. The position will provide technical support ensuring compliance federal, state and local safety regulations and maintenance of the ISO 45001 system.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, and administers policies and procedures to ensure regulatory standards compliance.
- Conducts training and provides interpretations of policies and procedures.
- Performs hazard assessments which may include hazard identification, ergonomic evaluations, and recommending countermeasures to management that will reduce/eliminate hazards.
- Performs periodic inspections of facility operations and participates in safety audits.
- Maintains safety equipment inventory.
- Develops, designs and may operate site specific safety equipment to determine the safety risk of the operation.
- Documents findings of safety assessments/studies and designs site specific safety action plans based on identified issues, as well as on regional and global SHE policies.
- Assists the nursing staff and the chain of command in managing personal and work related injuries and illnesses. This may include duties such as return to work job evaluations, ergonomic assessments, videotaping work stations, etc.
- Maintains appropriate expertise to provide technical support to management, production, and other departments.
- Supports DENSO's emergency response system through training and evaluation.
- Focuses on multiple safety site programs such as ergonomics/human factors, industrial hygiene, machine safety, security/emergency response, or fire safety. Monitors service of vendors. Assists in assessing risk associated with manufacturing activities.
- May participate in the planning, design, and inspection of machinery and processes to ensure compliance with standards.
- Attends meetings and prepares reports as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned (includes all non-essential or non-major activities).
- Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services, Ergonomics /Human Factor, Occupational Health and Safety or related degree.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience, or combination of education and experience.
- Certification is desired, not required such as ASP, CSP, CIH, CFPS, CHMM
