Position Summary:
As the Director of Operations for our fast-growing Dental Support Organization (DSO), you will play a critical leadership role in scaling and optimizing our operational infrastructure across multiple dental practices. This position is responsible for driving strategic growth, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering a culture of high performance, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
Working closely with the executive team, regional leaders, and practice managers, the Director of Operations will develop and implement scalable systems, processes, and best practices that support clinical and business objectives. This role requires a dynamic, results-driven leader with strong business acumen, a passion for team development, and proven experience in multi-site healthcare or dental operations.

Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership across multiple dental offices, ensuring alignment with company goals and performance expectations.
- Lead and manage a multi-level team, including Regional Managers, Office Managers and Business Managers
- Ensure all customer service and claims performance guarantees are met or exceeded.
- Resolve escalated contractor complaints and complex service or claims issues with urgency and empathy.
- Regularly assess team efficiency, productivity, and service outcomes—developing and executing targeted action plans to address gaps.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive roadmap of the end-to-end (E2E) patient and customer journey, identifying strategies to improve satisfaction and loyalty with measurable outcomes.
- Conduct customer feedback analysis and apply findings to better understand patient segments, expectations, and experience trends.
- Analyze current operations, claims, and service processes to streamline workflow, enhance service delivery, and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics tied to strategic goals and service delivery excellence.
- Prepare and present regular reports to executive leadership on KPIs, team performance, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and automation impacts.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders—including Clinical Directors, IT, HR, and Marketing—to support growth, service, and care delivery goals.
- Oversee third-party operational audits and ensure all practices maintain compliance with industry standards and internal protocols.
- Support annual strategic planning and budgeting, including staffing forecasts, system upgrades, and new program launches.
- Collaborate with the CEO to develop a long-term people strategy that includes career pathing, cross-training, and continuous improvement in customer and claims operations.
- Any other tasks or duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5 years of multi-site operational leadership experience, ideally in dental, medical, or healthcare services.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&Ls.
- Experience building and leading high-performing teams.
- Knowledge of dental practice operations and the dental revenue cycle is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in dental software Dentrix Ascend is a plus.
- Ability to travel to practices across the region as needed.
