Main Street Children's Dentistry & Orthodontics of South Broward is looking for a Pediatric Dental Assistant in Cooper City, FL to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment.

As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Full-Time: Mon, Tues and Thurs 8:45 AM - 5 PM Wed and Friday 7:45 AM - 4PM (1 Saturday a month 8:00-2:00)

Responsibilities:
· Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
· Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
· Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
· Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
· Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
Responsibilities
- Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
- Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.
- Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
- Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Maintains patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
- Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
- Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
· Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program
or
· Six months on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation)
· X-Ray certification
· Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
· High school diploma or equivalent
Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
