The perfect candidate must be a personable Dental Receptionist who ensures that dental appointments are appropriately scheduled, rescheduled, and welcome our patients with a smile. Also, be able to enter patients' information onto our dental software, answer their questions, and arrange medical clearance.
To be successful as a Dental Receptionist, you should be organized, maintain a positive attitude, and have a team-player mind. Ultimately, you will be the face of the company. Therefore, we expect the best of your people skills to show our patients respect and kindness.

Answer inquiries and provide information to the general public, patients, visitors, and other interested parties regarding activities conducted at Dental Designs departments, offices, and employees within the organization.
Associate's Degree (or other 2-year degree)
High School Diploma - or the equivalent (for example, GED)
Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer software, including applications.

Communication – Greet people at our dental office, assist patients, schedule appointments, greet people as they come into the office and answer patients' questions. The employee will be in constant communication with others. This will require great communication skills and establishing contact with patients and co-workers to maintain the workflow fluently.
Work Setting – The receptionist position work setting is on a desk which will require getting up and sitting down throughout the day. Being able to pick papers from the printer and stand to attend to patients checking in as well as sitting down to attend to patients on the phone.
Work Attire – Black Dental Designs shirt, black slack pants or skirt, black closed toe shoes and Dental Designs Jacket.
Impact of Decisions – The employee will be making impactful decisions throughout the day as it may affect the perception of new patients on the phone or in person. The understanding of the issue raised by any patient and the communication with the needed parties.
Pace and Scheduling - Description of the role that time plays in the way the worker performs the tasks required by this job
- Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.
- Receive payment and record receipts for services.
- Perform administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, or operating calculators or computers to work with ledgers.
- Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations.
- Hear and resolve complaints from patients’ concerns.
- File and maintain records.
- Transmit information or documents to customers, using computer, scanners, mail, email or facsimile machine.
- Schedule appointments and maintain and update appointment calendars.
- Analyze data to determine answers to questions from patients or members of the public.
- Provide information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.
- Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail, messages, or courier deliveries.
