Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise and innovative designs using advanced CAD software. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and manufacturing teams to bring concepts to life.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models using software such as SolidWorks or CATIA.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand design requirements and specifications.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and design reports.
- Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure accuracy in designs.
- Perform blueprint reading and interpretation for project requirements.
- Assist in the fabrication process by providing necessary design modifications and support.
- Conduct inspections using bore gauges, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback on projects.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks or CATIA.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T principles.
- Experience with tooling design and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Familiarity with geometric concepts related to design and manufacturing.
- Competence in using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges and micrometers.
- Basic programming skills related to CAD applications are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within a team environment.
