Position Overview:
The Dental Laboratory Manager will play a critical role in overseeing operations, ensuring the highest quality of restorations, and driving the lab’s growth into the full-arch arena. Initially, this role will require a balanced combination of 50% bench work and 50% management and outreach, with bench responsibilities decreasing as the team expands.
This position requires an individual with extensive industry connections, a passion for teaching, and a proven track record of growing and expanding labs, particularly into the full-arch space. Regular interaction with dentists and specialists will be essential, along with leadership in educational initiatives like study clubs and public speaking engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of a predominately fixed restoration laboratory.
- Perform and supervise high-quality fixed restorations with an emphasis on precision and aesthetics.
- Drive the lab’s growth into full-arch restorations through innovation, training, and partnerships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dentists, specialists, and other industry professionals.
- Organize and lead study clubs, workshops, and educational events for clients and peers.
- Represent the laboratory at conferences, seminars, and other speaking engagements.
- Develop and implement processes to optimize production quality and efficiency.
- Mentor and train lab technicians to foster skill development and uphold quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in fixed and full-arch restorations with a hands-on background in dental laboratory work.
- Proven success in growing and expanding dental labs, particularly into full-arch restorations.
- Established network of connections within the dental industry, including dentists and specialists.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing study clubs and delivering public speaking engagements.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for building lasting professional relationships.
- Teaching mentality and ability to mentor team members effectively.
- Knowledge of industry trends and innovations in restorative dentistry.
- Prior management experience in a dental lab setting is preferred.
