Small one-doctor private practice near Emory in Atlanta seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced dental clinic. We offer employees PTO and paid holidays as a benefit. Looking for an assistant with a minimum of 5 years experience. We use Dentrix/Dexis for our dental and imaging software - good computer skills a must. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and medical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a sterile and organized environment.
- Prepare treatment rooms by setting up instruments and materials for patient care.
- Manage patient records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
- Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental clinic is preferred (5 years experience), with knowledge of prosthodontics being a plus.
- Familiarity with medical records management and dental terminology is essential.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Proficiency in infection control practices within a clinical setting.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
