As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with our dentists, clinical team and administrative team to provide a comfortable and efficient experience for our patients. Your duties will include preparing and sterilizing instruments, assisting with procedures, taking X-rays, and ensuring the smooth flow of daily operations. You will also have the opportunity to help educate patients about oral health and post-procedure care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during a variety of procedures, including but not limited to, extractions, crowns, fillings, root canals and implants.
- Take accurate, diagnostic X-rays and intra-oral images
- Proper sterilization and organization of instruments and dental equipment
- Prepare treatment rooms and set up for procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Record patient medical histories and chart dental conditions
- Assist in patient education, post-operative instructions and follow-up care to patients
- Assist with patient scheduling
- Stay up to date with the latest dental technologies and techniques
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a dental assistant, preferably 2 years or more in general practice
- Current CPR Certification
- Nitrous Certification
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, equipment and sterilization methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times
