As a Dental Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our dentists and ensuring that each patient has a positive experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Chairside Assistance:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures.
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including fillings, crowns, extractions, and root canals.
- Hand instruments and materials to the dentist during treatments.
- Provide patient comfort and care before, during, and after dental procedures.
Patient Care and Education:
- Welcome and seat patients, ensuring they are comfortable and informed about the procedures they are receiving.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Take and record medical and dental histories, as well as vital signs, as required.
Radiography and Imaging:
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) following state regulations and practice protocols.
- Assist in the processing and management of digital images.
Sterilization and Infection Control:
- Adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for infection control and sterilization.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
- Ensure treatment rooms and instruments are prepared and sanitized for each patient.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage recalls.
- Order and manage dental supplies and inventory.
- Assist with front office tasks when needed, including answering phones, billing, and greeting patients.
Additional Responsibilities: Take on other responsibilities or special projects as directed by management to contribute to the overall success of the practice.
Experience
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, but recent graduates of Dental Assisting programs are welcome to apply.
Experience with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
Certifications:
Arizona State Dental Assistant Certification or the ability to obtain one within a specified time frame.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 36 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
