Dentistry by Design has an immediate opening for a Dental Assistant. We are looking for high energy candidates who consider themselves self-starters. The applicant we are looking for will complement the practice and encourage solid customer service skills, hygiene recall, and patient retention.
The Dental Assistant supports Dentistry by Design by increasing efficiency of the Dentist in the delivery of providing patients with quality oral health care. The role of each Dental Assistant is to by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials.
A. Essential Duties
1. Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials.
2. Performs procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
3. Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
4. Readies patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
5. Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.
6. Assembles instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area, positioning instruments for dentist’s access, suctioning, and passing instruments.
7. Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient’s mouth.
8. Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies and pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
9. Maintains patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
10. Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
11. Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
12. Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.
13. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
14. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
15. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
16. Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
17. Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
18. Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
19. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
B. Additional Duties
1. Assists and covers other staff when necessary to maintain high productivity and efficiency in the department.
2. As the company continues to grow, additional responsibilities that are essential for the department to be successful will be assigned accordingly.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Dental Assistant certification (CDA) required.
- Dental Radiograph Certification required.
- Expanded Functions (Expanded Duties) Certification required.
Experience:
- One year experience in dental field is required.
- Dental Terminology is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of government CMS regulatory requirements is preferred.
- Computer literate: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required.
- Electronic dental records system knowledge a plus.
Bilingual preferred
Travel is required between our Greenacres and Jupiter practice

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
