Event Sales Manager, Full-Time

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

We are looking for a motivated Event Sales Manager to join our team and drive the sales efforts for events hosted at the Denver Art Museum. The Event Sales Manager will be responsible for generating new business, managing client relationships, and ensuring that events are executed to the highest standards. This role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for sales, event planning, and exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding sales goals and delivering outstanding event experiences that will support the museum’s mission and programs. Experience in a cultural or non-traditional venue is a bonus!

 

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Event Sales. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Event Sales
    • Respond to RFPs (Requests for Proposals), create tailored event packages, and present proposals to clients in a compelling and professional manner
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with event planners, vendors, and key decision-makers
    • Conducts walk-thrus with prospective clients and follows up
    • Follows up with clients after their event for feedback and to invite them to return
    • Maximizes overall revenue to the museum by recommending additional spaces, corporate membership, gifts from the shop, docent led tours, etc
    • Build & maintain relationships with key partners in the events industry
    • Acts as a key ambassador for the museum
  • Event Planning & Production
    • Works with clients from contract to event day to coordinate their plans, including timeline, vendors, etc.
    • Conducts planning walk thrus and phone calls with clients
    • Ensures client’s plans adhere to all museum policies
    • Ensure that client plans are received and internally communicated in at timely fashion for staffing purposes
  • Reporting and Administrative Duties
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, leads, and event bookings
    • Track sales progress against targets and report regularly on performance
    • Prepare detailed sales reports and share key insights with senior management
    • Assist with pricing strategies, proposal templates, and other sales-related documents to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
    • Generate Contracts & ensure payment collection for event rentals
  • Consistent usage of the Racial Equity Lens in day-to-day operations
  • Yearly goal setting to support Racial Equity Roadmap initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Skills, etc.): 

  • Ability and willingness to learn about museum collections, exhibitions, events and activities on an ongoing basis
  • 3 years working in event sales

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Position type: This position will be covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with AFSCME-CWU.

 

Pay: The hiring salary range for the position is $53,000-66,200 based on experience.
