Job Summary: This position will assist the public relations department in publicity related to the Denver Broncos’ communications efforts.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist the media relations department with day-to-day communications responsibilities by:
- Coordinating the organization and distribution of daily executive news summaries
- Maintaining a professional atmosphere in the media workroom and press box
- Performing administrative tasks as necessary for the department.
Ensure timely distribution of football communications to external media by:
- Recording and transcribing players, coaches and executives during media availabilities.
- Maintain and update the all-inclusive media website platform, NFL Online Media Guide (OMG), with pertinent information.
Assist with producing and compiling departmental content by:
- Contributing to production of content for press releases, media advisories, weekly release and flip card
- Coordinating, binding, and mailing of weekly packets to network television crews.
Assist in team media responsibilities by:
- Working every Broncos home game
- Attending training camp and in-season practice sessions.
Contributes to the team effort by performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism or a communications-related field
- Minimum of two years of related public relations experience
- Ability to work flexible/long hours (early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays)
- Experience in the use of a PC, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop)
- Experience transcribing quotes
- Knowledge of football statistics, social media platforms and/or analytic tools
Preferred Skills & Ability
- Strong writing skills and understanding of AP Style
- Previous experience working with a professional sports team
- Reliable transportation
- Problem-solving skills, attention to detail and capacity to thrive in pressure situations
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
- A timed skills test will be administered during the interview process
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary for this position is $18.81/hour.
