What are the responsibilities and job description for the HS Assistant Cheer Coach position at Denver Christian Schools?
Job Summary:
Denver Christian High School Thunder is the current Four-time 2A State Cheerleading Champions and NCA National Champions. The Denver Christian Thunder Assistant Cheerleading Coach will assist the Varsity Head Coach and will serve as the administration coordinator for the entire cheer program at DC. The Assistant Coach will work with the coaching staff on administrative and organizational coordination in order to provide a seamless experience for athletes and parents. The person in this position must have strong administrative and organizational skills. While it is preferable that the assistant coach have a cheer background, this role will be more focused on proactively coordinating the administrative and organizational aspects of the cheer program. The assistant coach must have a strong desire to work alongside the Varsity Head Coach to spiritually guide the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Calendar and schedule coordination
- Weekly email draft and communication prepared for the head coach to send out
- Uniforms/warmups/Camp and Practice Clothes coordination
- Competition Registration, schedule coordination, and release coordination
- School spirit coordination, such as decorations, game banners, etc.
- Proactively find other performance and appearance opportunities for the team at the school to support the school or to promote the school at outside venues
- Coordinate volunteer opportunities
- Social media management

- Team birthdays
- Team bonding activities and details coordination
- Bigs/Littles
- Themed practices
- And more
- Attend games, competitions, and other special events
Qualifications:
- BA degree in education or related field preferred.
- Coaching experience at the high school level preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Demonstrates aspects of cheer – such as cheers and other routines
- Workouts/conditioning
- Tumbling
Working Conditions:
- Work may involve irregular hours, including early mornings and late afternoons. Some weekends
- Regular interaction with staff, students, and parents must maintain a professional demeanor.
