Position Overview
The server/cashier position at Denver Christian is responsible for serving students and staff, set up, tear down and clean up for food service activities at Denver Christian Schools including but not limited to school lunch, coffee bar, and various catering events.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be professing Christians, actively involved in a local Christian church, and fully supportive of the school’s statement of faith.
- Knowledge of quantity food and coffee service, food preparation, serving methods and operation of food service equipment
- Ability to accept and interpret direction given from Executive Chef, Food Service consulting team, and school administrators
- Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees, suppliers, school staff and students and the general public
- Ability to keep accurate records, estimate quantities of food needed, prep proper amounts, and maintain inventory controls
- Knowledge of POS system within two weeks of hire date
- Must be in good health, physically able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, stand and reach
- Must be certified by the ServeSafe Certification Program or equivalent within three months of hire and must maintain such certification throughout employment with the school
- Preferred one to three years food service with a food service program in the educational field or similar. Or any combination of training and experience which provides a demonstrated potential for performing the required duties
Essential Functions:
- During each full instructional day, prepare dining hall serving areas, serve in a timely manner all necessary students, staff, and faculty, and thoroughly clean dining hall and kitchen
- Operate coffee bar, including but not limited to assisting in food prep, set up coffee bar, prepare and serve coffee beverages, maintain and properly use coffee bar equipment, tear down and clean up each day
- Assist with food prep, set up and tear down, and clean up and serve at various catering events on campus
- Follow established health, safety, and sanitation principles applicable to food serving and kitchen maintenance
- Properly and safely operate all equipment needed in preparation and service of food
- Perform routine cashiering duties both in dining hall and coffee bar; including process payments in POS, receive and count money, reconcile cash and receipts, and make correct change
- Daily maintain food service facilities, equipment, and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition; including trays, pots and pans, and any items used during the day
- Assist in tracking food usage and waste
Salary : $18 - $20
